Taking back your power

How often have we given away our power to someone else and are unable to take it back because of our own anger and resentment?

Maybe they have wronged us, let us down or even broken our trust. But holding on to the anger and resentment further entraps us in our own web of spiraling emotions.

These festering emotions and at times even a need for revenge seems to pull us down in misery and a powerless feeling.

Sometimes, just our perception of the other person and our reaction to that perception can make us hand over our power to that person.

It rarely affects the other person, but this anger and resentment tend to eat us from inside.

Here is a short script to take back our power and set ourselves free. Let's call the other person 'X'. A bit cliche, yes, but let's just roll with it.. :)

KC Point - Even though I am so angry and annoyed with 'X'. Just thinking about 'X' makes me angry. But I cannot stop thinking about 'X' either. I still love accept and forgive myself.

KC Point - Even though I find myself just thinking about 'X' and how 'X' treated me, I still love accept and forgive myself.

KC Point - Even though I can feel the anger and resentment bubbling in my body, I still love accept and forgive myself.

EB point - I am so angry and furious with 'X'.

SE point - I cannot stop thinking about 'X' and the way 'X' has treated me.

UE point - I can feel that anger and resentment inside me.

UN point - And I've no way to tell 'X' how I feel.

CH point - I have no outlet for all this anger and resentment.

CB point -  I am so angry, that I cannot even function properly.

OH point - But I am still trying to love accept and forgive myself.

EB point - I keep thinking about 'X' all the time.

SE point - All the things I want to say and express, but have no way of doing it.

UE point - All I've is this anger and resentment.

UN point - It is eating me from inside and affecting my daily life.

CH point -  I cannot stop thinking and obsessing about 'X'.

CB point - Sometimes I feel only revenge will set me free.

OH point -  But I still choose to love accept and forgive myself.

EB point - But the more angry I get, the more powerless I feel.

SE point - The more resentment I feel, the more difficult it is for me to connect with my real self.

UE point - Maybe 'X' did wrong me, but by obsessing and thinking about 'X' all the time, I am not doing myself any favors either.

UN point - I do feel all this resentment towards 'X', but I do love myself more than that.

CH point -  And I want my freedom back.

CB point -  I am no longer ready to invest any more time or energy in thinking about 'X' and giving away my power.

OH point -  I choose my own life, my own power and myself now.

EB point - I deserve my freedom and I am taking back my power.

SE point - To be honest 'X' really does not deserve so much of my attention.

UE point - The more I am obsessing and thinking about 'X' the more power I am giving away to 'X'

UN point - I definitely deserve better than that.

CH point -  I am ready to let go of all the obsessing and resenting now.

CB point -  I choose my freedom and my life.

OH point -  And I choose to love accept and forgive myself.

EB point - I've spent so much time with this anger and resentment, that it is not so easy to let it go.

SE point -  But taking back my power is a good motivating factor.

UE point - I am ready to feel like myself again.

UN point - I am ready to let go of all my resistance to letting go of the obsession, anger, and resentment towards 'X'.

CH point -  The anticipation of getting my life back itself is a wonderful thing.

CB point -  I am ready to move on now.

OH point -  And I choose to love accept and forgive myself.

Repeat these rounds a couple of times with along whatever words your intuition gives you too. You'll start feeling lighter, freer, and maybe even start smiling more often too. That's how you'll see the shift. Take back your power and See you all in the next post.

Letting go - Discover the power within

We have all heard of letting go, we know there are times when we really have to let go, but how many times can we truly let go and how many times have we woken up to sheer magic and miracles when we have totally let go, most times because we have got distracted from the problem at hand by some other problem...:) or we just give up because we are just too tired to fight it anymore and voila..magic... suddenly things just seem to fall into place or get resolved magically... :) feels wonderful doesn't it? So what did we do there that changed things? when we got distracted or just too tired of bothering? what snapped? It is our emotional attachment or investment to the issue or problem. The moment we let go of it, we stop holding on to the problem in the current state as we perceive it with all our emotions. The moment we stop perceiving it as we have it has to change, vanish, get better. So we have been doing this pretty much as default behavior, fe

The thorn in the shoe metaphor

Let me just share a small story with you all today. I had gone for a walk at a local park this morning. It was a lovely morning though a bit warm. The breeze was crisp and the lake in the park shimmered and glowed in the morning sun. I was just beginning to soak it all in when, within a few steps, I felt there was something in my shoe. It was a bit bothersome, so I removed my shoe, did a simple dusting, and tried walking on. But something was stuck and kept poking me. I realized it could have been a stray thorn from my previous visit. Rather than trying to remove it right then and there, I tried to ignore it/ thought I could manage and kept walking on. But It was getting painful. The more I walked, the more painful it became and the less I enjoyed my walk. In fact, it was also slowing me down and kept my focus constantly on the painful point. I also forgot all about the beautiful scenery around me.  Finally, I had to st

Thoughts Vs Emotions

For those who have been practicing EFT for a while and the newcomers to EFT, it is really simple that once we have done a couple of rounds of EFT, it reveals a lot of things to us. When new emotions come up, it is really good, all we have to do is address them with another round of EFT. But sometimes our sweet intellect takes over and we start getting a number of thoughts, some memories, some perceived thoughts where we start analyzing the thoughts as possible connections to the issue at hand and start tapping on them. This takes us away from the issue. I hope you are with me so far and are getting what I am trying to say. For Example, if the issue at hand is you are feeling bad about something someone said to you, after a couple of rounds of tapping ideas come to your head and you start tapping " Even though I think xyz said this to me because..... " That becomes analysis rather than focusing on emotions. Even if such a thought does co
